Vasily Lomachenko (Loma) is a double Olympic champion and three-weight world champion who has been described as the best pound for pound boxer of all time, and I'm not in a position to argue with that. I love the guy!

V Is For Vasiliy Lomachenko
S Is For Sparring
Sparring has to be one of the most fun things I've ever done.
It took quite a while from first stepping in to the boxing gym to stepping in to the boxing ring, but the minute I did I was hooked.
The very first time I stepped in to the ring was with Coach Cris who was very gentle and patient with me and helped me to control my temper, it's natural to get angry when you've been hit!
Robbery & Kidnapping In Firgrove
Video Update
We recently sent this video out to friends and supporters but reworked it to include subtitles so as not to exclude any one.
We hope it blesses you
Y Is For Youtube
Really, this should be W is for worship, but I only thought of that after the event, so here we are with Y for YouTube.
At The Gathering we're not blessed with any musicians that can lead us in our worship, so we use worship videos downloaded from YouTube, and then we sing along to them on Sundays and any other event where we would like a time of worship.
U Is For Upside Down
Before I started this year's A to Z Challenge, I did say my theme would be random, so just in case things haven't been random enough so far...
Several nights ago I woke up just after 5am needing to wee, but for a moment or two as I lay on the bed I was a little disoriented because as it turned out, I was upside down on the bed. Apparently I had been that way since at least 1am when Paula got up to wee (oh the joys of being in our 50s!).
I have absolutely no idea how I ended up in that position on the bed or why, but it got me thinking about being upside down.
10K Muni Ride
I managed my longest ever Muni ride this morning, riding a little over 10ks in just over an hour and I'm very happy with that.
Night Shelter Artistry
We love what they do at the Night Shelter and were thrilled when they opened their Family Shelter, many of The Gathering's Soup Kitchen regulars have been there for the duration of the lockdown and it's comforting to know they are safe and cared for so lovingly there.
Concrete Ceiling
If you only listen to or watch one thing on Black Lives Matter, listen to our good friend Dave speaking about his own experiences in the UK.
As white people we will never need our lives to be verified in the way that Dave and so many other black people have experienced at some point. That is why we are privileged and black lives matter.
#BlackLivesMatter
Live Again
I want to post about all the wonderful blessings we're experiencing right now, and share about how life is great, but I can't do what I see some do and just pretend the sun is shining and life is great. In fact I have to be honest and say that I'm struggling to remain positive at present. I'm having to force myself to stay away from the news because it's worse than depressing and it makes my blood boil.
Easter Sunday
Once again we took to WhatsApp and once again it was such a joy to be able to Gather knowing we were united in God's presence, whether we were in Firgrove, Macassar, Somerset West or the Eastern Cape.
What Is Normal Anymore?
Things are far from any semblance of normality here and we can only look on from a distance as family and friends in Blighty keep posting pics of a trip out or a walk they had in the park, at least y'all still have those privileges.
Whilst we're cooped up we've been a bit more in demand than we might normally be, and have been asked to contribute to a few ongoing video projects as well as attempting to prepare the odd bit of video for use with The Gathering over the Easter weekend.
It's all good fun and I have to admit to enjoying being a bit nerdy when it comes to playing around with various bits of digital media, it may well be my way of staying on the correct side of the camera.
Thought For The Day 2
Following on from Paula's Thought For The Day on Thursday, I shared a thought about life under lockdown from a local perspective.
Homework Club Party
22 kids were eager to get in with a few siblings and friends trying to slip in too, but we managed to contain the numbers.
Welcome Home
We put this short video together to show to The Gathering at our Welcome Home Celebration this morning. It's a brief look at the journey from identifying our new home to getting it ready for this morning's Gathering.
We put this short slideshow together for our Renewal of Vows service at St. George's back in July.
The photos start back in 1985 when we started dating and go right through to this year.
We hope you enjoy it.
