Firewood

It's always an oddly exciting and satisfying event when our firewood is delivered each year.

We only get our wood once a year, and it supplies our wood burner in winter, which is our only source of heating in our house.

It's hard to believe in mid-summer that we will ever need to get the fire going, but summer is drawing to a close as the nights get shorter and the mornings are just a little darker as I cycle to my boxing gym.

This year we decided to try black wattle rather than the usual bluegum, and it certainly appears to be a better wood. It is supposed to be a longer burning wood, so it should work out a bit more economical, here's hoping...
