Having recently moved to Strictly Fighters Inc boxing gym, I've had the joy of getting to know some of the team running it, and it's been great to hear about their involvement with Khayelitsha Boxing Academy, a local NPO doing some great work in helping youngsters off the streets and distracting them from the life the street can offer. 

The heart of KBA resonates personally with me/us, but also resonates with The Gathering and our plans for reaching out to some of the older teens in the community through Boxing, once we have our building.

So this morning, straight after my Boxing session with Coach Lunga, I had the privilege of going through to Khayelitsha with Mongezi to give a donation of twelve new pairs of hand wraps to the boxers at the Academy, on behalf of The Gathering.

I really hope this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship, as they can offer us some advice and assistance with getting started Boxing with some of the local tearaways in Firgrove.
