Too Cramped

The Gathering's Soup Kitchen continues to do some sterling work in terms of serving the neediest and most vulnerable in the community, but also building bridges with folk who need that little bit more in terms of support & care, and it's a real privilege to be able to serve through the church.

However, as this Thursday demonstrated so clearly, we are far too cramped, especially when the weather prevents folk from taking their soup outside.

We now desperately need the building, or just a building, in which we can continue to meet and serve from.

The latest news on our Section 18A tax exemption is that SARS (the local revenue service) requested some documents which they said they hadn't had. So they asked for proof of The Gathering's address, signed off accounts for 2022/23 and proof of The Gathering's bank details. All of this was provided at the initial point of application for the S18A, but due to SARS' tardiness, they needed fresh copies of said documents.  All the documents have been submitted, again, and now we wait, again.

Please stand with us in prayer as we believe that the building is The Gathering's.
