Loadshedding celebrates its 15th birthday this October.

Yes, this country has been rolling out planned energy blackouts for fifteen years because Eskom the state owned utility is too incompetent and the ruling ANC are too corrupt to get their act together and actually resolve the issues. The main issue being the $24bn+ that have been stolen by those in power!

Anyway, after putting up with this nonsense for so long, we finally have a make do and mend remedy to spending two hours in the evening with no telly or WiFi...

We've invested in a portable inverter which can run our telly, laptop and internet for up to six hours at a time. It's not an ideal setup because we still can't cook or do a whole host of other stuff during loadshedding, but at least we can watch TV, and everyone in the house can access the internet on their phones, tablets or laptops.

It's the small things that make life good.
