Well done to all the A2Zers who made it this far.
Ω (Omega) is the last letter of the Greek alphabet, so there's no cheating going on here.
I have used Ω previously in 2012 & 2013.
In my L post, I said that I wasn't sure if I would fight again, but even if I don't, this is not the end of my boxing, quite the opposite.
I hope it's clear from my A2Z posts about boxing that I'm quite passionate about the sport, and am in no hurry to stop. So long as I can stand and lift my arms I have every intention of carrying on and using the sport as my main way of staying fit & healthy, and why not, for me the rewards have been off the scale!
And for as long as I am compos mentis I shall enjoy watching a boxing match whenever I Can, and I shall enjoy marveling at the sheer skill many boxers bring to the ring and the level of entertainment they provide.
Ω is also important in my faith.
Omega is also one of the names of God "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End." Revelation 22:13.
As a Christian I believe in the creator God (the beginning), and I believe the risen Christ will return (the ending) and as such there is nothing that exists outside of God.
A quick scan through this blog would tell the casual observer that this shapes most of what I do, especially given that with my wife we pastor a church together which is the greatest privilege of my life. I make no apologies for this!
Boxing isn't mentioned in the Bible, but the Apostle Paul uses the imagery of boxing twice in his two letters to Timothy. In First Timothy he says "Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses." and in Second Timothy Paul tells Timothy "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith".
I hope at the end of everything I too can stand and say I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Until next time A2Zers...

An interesting series. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing the challenge! Thanks for your visits to my blog. I did enjoy reading the couple posts of yours about boxing that I read. I just love how you finished the challenge with the Alpha and the Omega of Jesus. I think you'll be able to say at the end, like Paul, that you have fought the good fight and you have kept the faith. I also think you will hear from our Father "well done good and faithful servant." Take care of yourself!!
