This is a week overdue but it was great to celebrate another fantastic year of The Gathering's Homework Club last Friday 23rd as we held our now annual Awards Ceremony.
It's always a joy to celebrate the kids achievements and to show their families just how well they're doing, and some of our kids are doing incredibly well.
We have three big bits of news for our Homework Club in 2020....
Firstly, we're looking for a new Facilitator so please join us in praying for this. We ideally want a local who's first language is Afrikaans, ideally they need to be a church member but we'd appoint a local who is clearly saved.
Secondly, we're on track for increasing the Homework Club from 32 to 48 kids and we're excited about this.
Thirdly, Green Shoots are extending the Maths@Home program to cover Grades 7, 8 & 9 which will cover youngsters going in to High School. This really is excellent news!
It's been a good year and The Gathering's kids have smashed the termly Competition Quizzes.
Of our 28 kids who finished the year, 25 won at least one competition and five of them won five competitions in 2019
All set and ready for the awards...
