Weekend

We've had a really good weekend, on Saturday we went to Hermanus in the morning but sadly there were only a couple of whales and they were way off in the distance. That will probably be our last attempt this year to whale watch. We still had good fun with Joel who enjoyed clambering over the rocks and attempting to chase the dassies. In the evening we we went out to a Thai restaurant with our new friends Richard & Felicity, we such a good evening.

This friendship is a real answer to prayer. It was good to chat without the distractions of Joel & Matthew and enjoy some adult company.

Sunday was another good day with the temp soaring to 30ºC -it looks like Summer has arrived- so after church we went off to the Nature Reserve. Joel was in 7th heaven as he saw a 'scoop' and a tractor close together, then as we walked to see 'Spikey' the porcupine (Joel is so scared of Spikey but feels compelled to see him) the education centre was being closed up so the man let Joel in to look at the snakes, turtles and fish. Joel couldn't believe his luck.

We have a busy (and potentially key) week coming up. On Tuesday Paula will be taking a couple of folk from CNP to the local Dr's with a view to seeking a referral to the hospice, whilst Dean will be beavering away on his MA work again, Tuesdays are allotted for this. On Friday we have a meeting with our lead elder to talk about our roles and the future. Please pray about this as we really want to serve the church and work towards the building of God's kingdom here in the Helderberg basin. We also need to set up a meeting with our church members in CNP with a view to establishing some unity amongst them, primarily by knocking the gossip on the head. Again, your prayers in this respect would be appreciated.
